Image

[edit]

I changed the image from A to B. Obviously, B is a better, higher quality and color image. However, it was changed back. What should the image be

Wcamp9 (talk) 20:30, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Already  Done. B should remain in the Infobox and A in the body of the article. Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 21:45, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree on the quality of B over A. I think A is more focused on her face and personality. B doesn't seem to be of higher quality at all, she has more of a forced smile and what the photographer was focusing on?...the angle, frankly, seems odd, shot as it was from a low aspect and looking up at Mansfield's body and face. B&W vs color makes no difference to me. - Shearonink (talk) 00:23, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How about C:

Sorry, I like both A and B better than C, and prefer leaving the article as it is now, and per the opinion of Wcamp9. If Wcamp9 and I end up in the minority in the future, I would compromise by exchanging A and B, but rather not. Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 02:30, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Death Location

[edit]

why is Jayne Mansfeilds death location in some articles, listed as Jefferson Co.,Ky with actual Photos. But the Wikipedia list her death location as Slidell,La? 2600:1004:B32E:B098:0:46:863C:DD01 (talk) 05:29, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you cite the articles and photos which show the Kentucky location? Her article's death location is supported by reliable sources and the death location places it 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the Rigolets Bridge which is shown here. It appears the wreck was closest to Slidell, so it was the location used. Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 06:53, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of death

[edit]

Cause of death is disputed in the entry, and states that the official cause of death “rules out” decapitation due to the description “avulsion of cranium and brain “. But “avulsion” means “ripped off” or “forcible detachment” and “cranium” refers to the part of the skull that holds the brain, therefore avulsion of cranium and brain sounds like a decapitation to me. Deederoo (talk) 17:53, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article is correct. With cranium avulsion the head remains attached. Wikiarticle: "Decapitation is the total separation of the head from the body." Merriam-Webster: "to cut off the head of: BEHEAD". Cambridge: "the action of cutting off the head of a person or an animal". See, also, this fact check.
